The output stage of S88 is very good for me. FS should be the same output stage. I have touch the FG, it has much better sound set. Audio quality should not be too much different. Of course, FS will save you lot of money...

You need MSP class of monitor.

Try mastering section of Fantom G. Disable all switch to see the distortion happen.

USB cannot support too many channel. Probably FG is restricted to USB 1.1 compliance. Some USB mixer can have many channel, but all channel are mix down to stereo input. This is what I observed.

The USB is for file transfer only. You need a Midi to USB adaptor.

I have Sonar and Logic. For bread and butter,I think is the way to go. I use them for demos right now. Creative work still have to depend on my S88. In future, I may want to be pro arranger.
