Memory card?

Hi Gang

I’m having problems with my Smartmedia card (Samsung 128MB) it just won’t work.

I’m using the Sandisk 6 in 1 adapter, I’m confused at what card to buy, can I use SD? (it doesn’t say in the manual) ………I was thinking of trying a 512MB Sandisk SD. If not can anyone recommend something else?

(With the 6 in 1 adapter I can’t use compact flash)

Any help appreciated.

I'd suggest a Compact Flash card from Sandisk or Kingston, they always work.

Speaking of memory cards, I am having a hard time tracking down a compact flash PCMCIA adapter from Kingston. I would rather use their products if possible. Has anyone seen this lately on the net or store in the US lately?

I have a Pretec PC card to CF adaptor and it works just fine with V-Synth, V-Synth XT, Fantom-X and Fantom-Xa.

I second the Pretec CFII to PC Card adapter.
Even the Kingston Elite Pro (rated at 3.3v) ,which is not supposed to work with the VariOS, functions well.

Can anybody tell me if this 1GB SanDisk Compact Flash Ultra II will work with V-synth as it has asustained write speed of 9 megabytes (MB) per second and a read speed of 10MB per second?

It will work as long as it's a CF type II card, but you do not need to waste money on such a card as the max read/write speed on the V-Synth is about 1 MB/sec.

could one of you put a link on a good compact flash card to get on Amazon.com? im not totally sure of what i need to get.
this flash card will help me save more presets on my v-synth xt, correct?

Just get any card from SanDisk or Kingston, not a highspeed one but something like 24x.
