INTEGRA-7 SRX-Boards for Jupiter-80?

INTEGRA-7 SRX-Boards for Jupiter-80?

Concerning the already published INTEGRA-7 advertisment in the german Keyboards magazin, the new INTEGRA-7 sound module seems to consist of a Jupiter-80 sound engine and all 12 SRX Expansion Boards and Motional Sourround Technology.

The advertisment deliberately suggests a Jupiter-80 inside the INTEGRA-7, showing a nice JP-80 picture next to the INTEGRA-7, saying with big letters: "The Jupiter for the Rack!" and "ALL 12 SRX-Boards built in!"

http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=45299&start=15#p261485

This bears the following question: Is there any chance, we will ever see an update (with costs), offering all 12 SRX-Boards for the Jupiter-80 as well? Or is the Tone Structure of the INTEGRA-7 completely different from the JP-80, which will make any update in this regard impossible?

Can't wait to see more details...;)

Interesting that you post that question - I was thinking the same thing!

We just don't know if the JP-80 can technically handle these ARX expansions - if so, would be a wonderful v3 to get! However, if there are no plans to introduce this to the JP-80, it would somewhat de-value the JP-80 hardware, and could possibly harm future sales of the unit (as well as disappointing current customer base).

Or there could be preferential pricing for registered JP-80 owners for this Integra unit.

I guess we shall just have to wait and see...

My wish is that the Integra-7 would somehow enhance the Jupiter-80 experience by working together with it .

I do remember hearing Scott Tibs saying something like , there was some amazing sound packages coming to the JP-80 and that Roland was just getting started with what they want to do with the JP-80 .
I guess we will have to wait and see .

If I remember correctly, a SRX-card can hold up to 64 mb of waveform data. So, all twelve cards means 12 x 64 = 768 mb.

I really don't see how this would be possible to implement in the JP-80 with a software update.

Unless the JP-80 is equipped with either some sort of hardware expansion possibility, or flash memory, on the inside that we don't know of. (Remember the Blofeld?..)

Now it would be also nice if you could import your own wavs too ;-)

Help guys please..

We have to wait about 24 hours until we'll know, if the whole "The Jupiter for the Rack" hype was just a Roland marketing strategy, or if the INTEGRA-7 does indeed include a WHOLE Jupiter-80 with exactly the same Tone structure, architecture, 256 Voices and so forth, which I really doubt.

And don't forget, you won't have the whole physical interface with touchscreen and realtime controllers and the excellent keyboard with the INTEGRA-7.

I doubt it will have a connection for an external display and a mouse, why it will probably depend very much on the additional use of a computer for in-depth editing...

How many voices will INTEGRA-7 have? How deep will the editing options go? What's the price point compared to the JP-80? How good will it integrate with a DAW or even with the JP-80? Multitimbrality: will it have just 4 MIDI zones like the JP-80, or will it have 16 or even 32 MIDI zones? And so forth...

After knowing all the facts in about 24 hours, you can take the decision dependent on your main needs...but I am afraid unfortunately not earlier...;)

interesting :-)
Maybe also a reduction for the FantomG owners please , as they already own the best of SRX, wouldn't be far to pay complete price for the .... other of SRX. + FG owners have most probably 1 or 2 ARX cars installed.

It would have to have at least the full jp80 complement for editing or it would be pointless all together.
as far as edit goes.. i dont see any reason the Ipad editor or something similar cant be provided.
One thing im surprised that does not seem to be is a VST plug-in for the JP range??

this is a bit of a bummer.. maybe they will give with the new intergra?

Thanks Dany, I think it would be wise to wait 24 hours then.

Yes, was removed - I think Roland were watching... ;)

I am beginning to think that there is no relationship between the JP-80 and this Integra rack other than the use of SuperNatural, so we shouldn't think that the nice ARX expansions are going to be forthcoming for the JP-80.

Having viewed all I can about the Integra, I see it is a unique machine and not part of a 'family' of products as such.

Shame, but interesting that a rack is generating lots of interest when Korg believes the rack market to be dead (evidenced by no rack since the Triton in the 90s).

Cello, Korg did have the Radias which was a module and I think the M3 can also be bought without the keyboard.

Absolutely true - but neither were a dedicated, rack only productline. They were designed to also have keyboard options, unlike the Triton rack (although you could obviously get the conventional hardware/keyboard version as well).
