Yes, agreed, Jabberwocky: fixing the G in big style would bring them back into business, even now, though it will be harder to regain customer confidence.
@Fatbrass: it seems we can only agree to disagree.
From my view Roland needs (positive and negative) customer feedback more than anything to get back on track. There are only two ways for customers to give them that feedback, via local Roland reps and via public forum feedback. I have used both channels over the years and soon found out, that the first seems to be even more futile than the latter.
Since this is the biggest Roland user forum (Roland doesn't maintain any own, like other brands do, to keep in contact with their customers), this will be the most probable place where Roland reps read feedback - IF they read ANY. From some instances it seems they do at least casually.
So I don't write here to provoke you or Art or anyone, but to express user perspectives in a calm, non-offensive, but also clear cut way. And I am convinced that an ongoing problem has to be adressed more than once (not every minute, not to get me wrong), just like everybody of us does in everyday life. Nothing exciting or provoking about it.
The question at the beginning of this thread was, if a Fantom G7 sellout might mean something or not, and it is not at all "no matter the subject", what I commented in this context. Exactly the same counts for the last locked thread: it was completely on topic to comment a question for ARX announcements with a hint on the difference between Roland's publishing politics compared to those of others, which I as customer appreciate for well understandable reasons.
So I think it might in turn rather be up to me meanwhile, to ask politely not to have one of the moderators and/or of the "fanboy" circle to jump on each and every critical remark I write.
As I said: it's not meant to provoke anyone, it's just how I as a customer of an expensive workstation (which I basically liked and like) look at it. I can detect nothing wrong in that.
