What I'd like to see on the next MV...
9 Jul 2007, 09:54Faster screen redraws (thus faster intenal processor) with scrolling cursor
1GB RAM maximum memory size (512MB included as standard)
MC-808 style RAM expansion panel, so no need to remove the entire bottom of the unit
80GB internal hard drive rather than 40GB
Juno-G style internal synthesizer engine
SRX expansion board compatibility (1 expansion slot)
128-Voice polyphony (shared between sampling and synthesis engines)
Instrument parts (patch locations) to be increased to 32, rather than 16
Different Instrument for Pattern mode, so no need to have same sounds loaded in the Song mode Instrument
16-Tracks of audio recording, rather than 8
Double the number of MFX units to 2 (3 would be better!)
VS-2480DVD style 3rd party plugin support (to be able to use Auto-Tune, T-Racks and so on)
DVD-R/CD-R drive for reading and burning DVD's as well as CD's
1 additional MIDI in (2 total), 2 Additional MIDI outs (4 total)
D-Beam for enhanced live performance and real-time control
V-Synth GT style "Variphrase" sampling (not just for audio tracks)
V-Synth GT style "Multi Step Modulator" for the Analog Bass Synth (like the one first seen on the SP-808)
V-Synth GT style "Time Trip Pad" for grater manipulation (either via hardware or via the touch screen, like the V-Synth XT)
V-Synth GT style colour touch screen display (tilting to a user defined angle, not fixed angle)
V-Synth GT style small single-line display to instantly show the MFX parameters near the rotary controls
V-Synth GT style USB Host connector to allow external hard drives to be connected (which would be handy for using a small USB key drive)
V-Synth GT style dedicated XLR input with phantom power
I feel that with those additions, it would be a totally complete stand alone production powerhouse, capable of anything you could throw at it.
Can anyone think of anything else they would like to see included?
