audio in on Fantom 6....can I create an audio track in the sequencer?

.

Greetings - I have a Fantom X6, and it allows me to create an entire song in the sequencer - I can layer in vocals (via the audio in), synth, piano, drums, etc.

Can I do the same in a Fantom 6? I've looked at the manual, and other sites, but can't figure it out.

Obviously, the Fantom 6 has an audio in, but can I rout the audio into the sequencer and create an entire song.....or?

thanks much

Technically, I guess you can do it by recording audio to keyboard samples (and multi samples), and then trigger them from a regular (MIDI) track. However, this use case is not well supported by the Fantom.

I see it as follows: The Fantom tries to improve the integration with DAWs, instead of trying to replicate the functionality of DAWs. If you want to create and produce entire songs (including audio tracks) without a computer, then I would not recommend the Fantom.

Thanks for your reply. Recording entire songs within the synth is my objective.

Which synth(s) might you recommend for that purpose?

I have no experience with using audio tracks on music workstations. I am not aware of a lot of options. I guess the Korg Nautilus inherited the functionality from the Kronos, and Akai recently added a keyboard version to their MPC family. The former is presumably based on 10 year old technology, and the latter is fairly new with mixed reviews.
