it was a factory resealed item so cost less than a new item, and I was intending to return it within the 30 day as I didn't really have the funds, but missed the return date. Sadly I am now looking for a dust cover...

They quoted me 1699. for an xt so imagine a keyboard. u pay shipping and no taxes....

do you get it from them?

they have the synth in there for 2,200, so would i need to wheele and deal?

1) Yes, all my gear....except for Cubase sx2 and my XT. Reason being is cuz I had gotten the SamAsh cc for special purchases that i didn't have the cash for at the moment, or didn't feel like chargin on my own cc, and having to pay interest on whatever i get. SamAsh has the 15 months no interest no payment...But if have the cash or know that I can pay off my cc before interest gets me, then by all means, Im there.

2) I do. they have been there as long as I can remember. My dad use to shop there when we were kids. My salesguy was awsome. He use to give my brother and me the best deals like $1649 before the X6 came out. unfotunatly he doesn't work there no more, so Ill have to start fresh with someone else...It shouldn't be too hard though, since I've spent a great deal ther already..and that's not to say everyone else there isn't cool, it's just that we had a good freindship with our guy....Look, man it don't hurt to try. If u still feel iffy after u call, then forget it. go somwhere else that don't give u that felling...this is ony a suggestion any way.

3) Every where u see music gear for sale it's the same deal...."Call for low price" they do this so u don't go anywhere else claiming a lower price...just call,,,,,or don't.... it's your choice.

Trust me on this one--Music Center in Kenosha is the real deal. AMAZING prices, and they are very cool to deal with. Seriously, you won't go wrong. And no, I don't work there--I've just gotten a lot of excellent deals from them.

i have that "oh my god this is a lot of money" feeling.

Sure is a whole bunch of money, but unlike a lot of other keyboards, this is one that has many possibilities not to mention a new personality with each new V card.

After you spend that money and plug in your V, you'll be getting the "oh my god, this is a whole lotta keyboard" feeling.

to my suprise, a guitar center opened up this weekend in kansas city. so i might check there, see if they can swing a good deal, i could have a v-synth but this weekend. and now that the weather is good i can drive again (my car doesn't start when it's over 80 degrees)

i know this board is for me, and having it will make my work complete, so it's a must. but i want to be smart about it.

oh, and i just got the skinny puppy dvd and he was playing a v-synth and a virus during the gig. i have to get this synth!!!!!

Off the subject, but... ANOTHER new album is in the works!! Ditching Otto and going straight Cyrus Rex (but only god knows how bad we all wish Goettel would rise from the grave... imagine what HE would do with a V-synth WHOOOWEEE WOWZERS is all I have to say about that one)... I hope they don't use Mark Walk again... he loves to screw up Cevin Key's work I think they dislike eachother very much- they need Ogilvie BAAADDD... and I really hope they leave the guys from static x and tool out of the plan too... Yeah, Cevin made some SWEET therimin patches that just screeeeemed out of the V-synth and the PA- one of the best live sets! I saw them three times. Otto was really good too- I can't believe it, he makes most of his wacky stuff in fruity loops- I won't talk on that programm again- he just makes so much fun of PC users in his new album, it's just funny that he is in fruity loops.... Otto and Key are some very sick in the head programmers- def a couple of my faves. It's a great feeling to know that you have a piece of gear that holds the potential of some of your fave albums- especially of the caliber that bands like skinny puppy hold.

yeah, the new record is good, but i can hear mark walk taking more of the control over the music. orge and cevin never work together at the same time and from what i understand, the music was cevin and vocals was orge, they didn't fuck with eacholther. but now, the vocals have taken over, mostly cuz orge and mark are close. i don't think it's bad to have good vocals, but the music can't take back seat. i think the next record will be better, they have more time to think about it and get back into the grove.

on another note, i have changed my mind. i got a lap top and have reaktor 5 on the way. i really wanted a v-synth, but for about the same price i will be able to do almost the same type of monipulation as the v but have the felx of a laptop, soemthing i needed anyway. i hope it will work out. and thanks for the help.

this site does have better people on it, so it's too bad you all aren't on a reaktor site.

Yeah.. I'd be getting a comp and software to before getting the keyboard, there is just too much flexibility in a computer to just take a keyboard over... but I couldn't imagine working without the V now that I own one... are you on the Native Reaktor site? I have reaktor as well, maybe I will see you on there... I need to dig a little deeper with that prog.... but back to puppy... don't get me wrong- I like alot of IDM, but I really think puppy should stick to the wierd dark stuff... I like all ove the subcon projects (some more that puppy), but I really don't think that stuff should bleed into puppy, it's kinda hard not to woth all the crazy soft/hardware out there... we can make anything sound rediculously bizzare and weird, but the influence has really lightened skinny puppy up alot... of course they are somewhat humorous, but they are mutating into some wierd strain of trance/idm... I don't know if I like it, I like cevins bleepy evil shit better, nasty distorted vocals all the way... the last album was a little too cartoonish, still good though- who at their age is pumping out crazy cuts like that, most of the newer kids still can't put a flame to them.

well if tweakin with a mouse is your thing, then all the better for u. I can't get into it like that...I feel like I'm gettin nowhere in a hurry. But I guess once u get use to it,,,,u get use to it.

Oh no... don't get me wrong, I love meat and potatoes hardware, but when you have a limited amount of money and you need to sequence, sample, do wave editing, mixing as well all the other things computers let you do... well it turns into a hard draw... but the choice is really simple.
