Just bought a V-synth yesterday!

Just thought I would share. I bought the V-synth instead of the XT version. The Guitar Center in Wheaton, Maryland has two in box(new) and the floor model and I got mine new for $900 then had to pay $45 in tax.
I also got new headphones, a kick drum pedal and a throne...so everything in total was $1212.
It just did not seem worth it to get the XT just for the VC-2 card. I think the VC-1 is interesting and the combination of the two (VC-1 and VC-2) just do not seem worth $2000.
Studio size was not an issue for me.
After listening to the initial version I quickly updated to Version 2. The original version is kinda wild compared to version 2. I can see why so many people in here still want to keep the first version.
Back to reading the manual and fiddling around.
cheers
Ian

Hi Ian.

Congrats on your new V-Synth. You got a great price by the way. I was able to get the VC-2 while it was still in production and it's a very interesting expansion for the V-Synth, but only useful for specific applications. I also have the VC-1 which is great for reproducing some of those old 80's and early 90's sounds. I got the V-Synth keyboard mostly for the added control surfaces that you can't get with the XT (D-Beams and all kinds of knobs and sliders). Though I've not compared them, my gut feeling just from looking at the demos of the XT is that the Time-Trip pad emulation using the touch-screen of the XT has much poorer response time and resolution to the original TT-pad of the keyboard which is another reason I got the keyboard over the XT.

Well, I have my old V-Synth keyboard for v.1.51 sounds, which I find very playable, cool and funky, and pure too-with a VC-1, VC-2, AND the new VC-3 Virtual Neuronic interface that's being introduced at NAMM in January-AND I have an XT- for the version 2.00 beat coolness.
Actually I'd tell you more about it, but my Nurse has just come to take me back to my padded cell and give me one of those de-licious injections! Maybe I'll even dream about the VC-4 espresso extension for our beloved V-Synths and XT's, oh yeah! and the XXT too.

You had for me a minute.
