keyboards and phantom power

Some of the newer Roland keyboards, like the RD-700SX, has got balanced XLR-outputs, which really invite to connect the keyboard directly to the mic input on a mixer, without the need for some kind of XLR to TRS cable. Well, one learns as long as one lives, and I would never have done that now, but three months ago, i certainly would. My question is, if there were condenser microphones connected to the same mixer, so that the global 48 v phantom power was turned on, could this possibly damage the keyboard?

Shouldn't cause any problems at all - if there's nothing to recieve the phantom power at the end of the cable - in this case the RD, (didn't know it had XLR outputs BTW), I think it effectively gets ignored. It should never be a problem to connect XLR to XLR on a mixer whether phantom power is enabled or not, and is by far the more preferable way of connecting;

XLR outputs are seen as more professional due to their robustness and strain relief mechanism, they are designed to be plugged in and out all day without any problems - probably why the RD has got them since it's designed as a stage piano with all the abuse this role gets.
