adding a cheap D-Beam to the XT

adding a cheap D-Beam to the XT

I am seriously considering a purchase of the XT but having played a V synth before, I love the d-beam feature. For space reasons the keyboard version is not an option but I know that other roland d-beam gear can sync up to the rack v synth. Is there any cheap gear that has a d-beam or two? I just don't want to spend a ton on a piece of gear for the purpose of it's dbeam only so the cheaper the better. Thanks.

What about the sp-606? In addition to the d-beams, you'd also get a nice and effective sampler with some nifty features and effects not found in the V-Synth XT...

I was thinking something a bit cheaper and this would be overkill since I have the radikal technologies spectralis which is all the sampling power and flexibility I will ever need. i appreciate the suggestion though, keep em' coming.

Hmm, how about a secondhand mc-505 or sp-808? You can probably get these very cheap now. But I don't know if the beams are assignable...?

What about one of the cheapo Alesis 25 controller keyboards that have the AirFX beam controller on them?

Very similar to a D-Beam I think

I'm interested to know what you decided to do.... I'm in much the same situation myself- I have an XT and I like it a lot, and would have gotten the keyboard version had I had the space. The 8 performance knobs and two touchscreen modes are nice, but they're not as expressive as the dual d-beams would have been. Now, the v-synth is a rather tweakable and expressive synth already, so it's not the end of the world... I guess I'm just a kid who likes shiny toys.

i tried a secondhand mc-505 but it was too big and I thought to myself, if I am going to deal with this I might as well have the keyboard so I resold it. I have actually just mapped what I could to my korg kontrol 49 and gave up on the dbeam option. I am learning to love the xt for what it offers instead of what I am missing and I am much happier for it.

The XT has two touchscreen modes? Would the D-Beam hurt your eyes if it hit your eyes? Is there any other product like the D-Beam?

Thats actually a really nice looking controller . . . beyond my budget but i need a controller for cubase sx channels and volumn fades and this may also do the d beam on the xt ? . . ..

cheers
