OK here we go.
First thing im not a super HEX dude, i just use Bome's SendSX too read the codes each parameter sends and then i recreate it in Cubase.

I guess u want too create the 2 HEX counter code.
That goes from 00 00 to 07 0F instead of the 00-7F.
Just saying this soo i know we are on the right track.

Ok lissen up
all u done so far is right the i think u made counter Totaly Wrong
here is a code for TVF Cutoff on Cmos 1 in temp project 1
F0 41 12 00 53 12 10 00 50 12 08 00 00 00 06 F7
here is the part we need too focus on
F0 41 12 00 53 12 10 00 50 12---->08 00 00 00 Number of bits=8 -- Bits pr Byte=4 -- byte pos 0(LSB)=13 -- Byte Pos1=12
now it will count too 0F and when u raise it again it goes too 00 and then i then next counter goes 1 up
00 0F - 01 00
ok now for Value 12
--> Number of bits=4 -- Bits pr Byte=1 -- byte pos 0(LSB)=12 -- Byte Pos1=11 -- Byte Pos2=11 -- Byte pos3(MSB) 10

now u told 2nd counter that 08 will max count too 08
00 00 --> 07 0F = 0-127

i added a picture of the settings

Best of Luck with your Control Panel

I Wanted too make one my Self but i putted it on standby because
there is realy too much too control and if u make a control panel
and it only works for 1 Patch
not sure

but im thinking of making some kind of VST where u will be able too control every parameter on patch 0-512 midi part 1-16
i know how too do it
problem is i dont know any VST create program that have SysEX support that can be used for this kind of control
YET.....

Peace DJ AlexDK

Click on "create an attachment" in post composer, then select the image file from your hard drive and press "post".

Great work guys!

Can we get a progress report?! ;)

Started to investigate doing this myself but my hair was turning more grey by the second.

I need this! (shame roland were/are to lazy to do it themselves;)

progress report:

i'm in the stage of finishing the map, a lot of parameters are already working but there are some cosm filters i still need to add to make it acceptable for everybody. It has taken a while because i was quite busy at work to finish a large project. That project is almost done, so i can finish the last sysex codes the next 2 weeks.

the current schedule is to release the final map within 2 weeks from now on. Almost all Vsynth parameters will be automatable in cubase. You can also do patch editing through the included map (not really necessary with the great touchscreen of the vsynth itself).

if you want to experiment yourself here are some tips and tricks:

to create a single byte value sysex code:
- create a 13 byte length sysex message
- select the c5 roland checksum
- remove all parameter values except value 10.
- fill out value 0 - 9 with the hardcoded sysex values.

i've found an easy way to create double byte sysex codes in the cubase midi editor. All you have to do is:
- create a 14 byte length sysex message
- select the c5 roland checksum
- remove all parameter values except value 12.
- select value 12 and fill in: number of bits: 8, bits per byte: 4
- fill out value 0 - 10 with the hardcoded sysex values.

that's all you have to do to support the double byte sysex values of the vsynth.

i've also made a seperate text file with the sysex values of each parameter. If anybody is interested i could post the long list of this when i'm done. it looks like this:

osc1 analog pitch: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 14 f7
osc1 analog detune: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 20 f7
osc1 analog mix: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 7a f7
osc1 analog lfo 1: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 16 f7
osc1 analog lfo 2: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 22 f7
osc1 analog lfo 3: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 26 f7
osc1 analog rate: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 40 01 f7
osc1 analog level: f0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 1b f7

in the above scheme the osc1 analog rate sysex is a double byte value sysex code. The rest is single byte value sysex codes.

There are some sysex strings that are much longer that 13 or 14 bytes. For example, the tva_decay sysex which is 16 bytes long. But the principle remains the same.

The map still looks the same, but incase you've missed it here is a preview: SX3 Vsynth editor

If Anybody is Interessted then i could post a map with allmost all OSCs parameters basic Filter parameters
and TVA parameters

all u need add your faders ect and then select what parameters u want too control

this was just made for automation.

Does anyone have these editor still available? All the links are dead. Also does anyone know how to find the CC numbers for the controls of the v-synth?

Yep, it seems that all the links are dead... ;-D, the links are from 2005...

but, if you have the original V-Synth (not the GT), I can suggest you look at this manual, as between pages 154-170, it contains the V-Synth detailed MIDI implementation (not only the chart), and I'm sure will be useful for you.
