Help with V-Synth control panel for Cubase SX3

I started too figure bit out how the Sysex codes works after readomg this post

http://v-tribe.info/forum/?action=show_thread&thread=391&fid=7&page=1

but i got a little problem with filter controls
i can make one that change filter type in COSM 1
the code is
F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 50 01 F7

now i want too make knobs for all 24 filter parameters
but this part dont work
like Parameter 1
is
F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 50 02 F7

In the Midi Implementation
it says
Transmission of "#" marked adress is devided to some packets, For exsample, ABH in hexadecimal notation will be devided too 0AH and 0BH and is sent/received in this order.

any who can help me out ??

Look in the data lists for each parameter in the v-synth manual, it should tell you specifically how each is mapped for the specific paarameter type. That looks like a generic comment to describe in general how multi-byte mappings are done.

Cubase SX does provide a mechanism for masking and splitting data value into several bytes for sysex mappings, I just cant remember it - I looked at doing it for a Roland V-Drum controller, but abandoned it as I really wanted a full patch editor so started working on as a separate application - which seemed easier (as Im a software developer by trade anyway).

I think the documentation does assume that you are allready a midi guru, and so familar with typical sysex structures and typical bit manipulation logic that is applies to split and merge value > 128 across several bytes as required for midi.

There is alot of documentation on the net to help people understand this. The MIDI web site might be a good starting point. http://www.midi.org/

pls help me out

ok i got abit closer found a program that reads the sysex codes v-synth
but i still dont get it

example: sysex code from COSM TVF Cutoff parameter when its on lowest

F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 50 12 08 00 [00 00] 06 F7
and highest
F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 50 12 08 00 [07 0F] 70 F7

i guess it means it uses 2 Values(i hope its the right word) now they are marked with [ ]

i know how too do it with the normal ones
like OSC 1 Time

F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 34 [01] 2B F7
and in cubase i just write X in the [ ] then it automatic set the value i need but
but it dont work
if i do 2 values and add x in both
then it dont work
pls help me out

as soon im finish building the control panel i will release it on the forum with all parameters soo u can do automation with everything.. But untill then im totaly stuck
the control panel is worth nothing if i cant use the Filters parameters

and BTW is there a way too make the parameters i maade in cubase too read soo when i change something on v-synth then it allso change on control panel

F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 50 12 08 00 [00 00] 06 F7

I envy you guys talking MIDI
F0 41 10 00 53 12 10 00 10 34 [01] 2B F7
I don't understand a number of what you're talking about

Looks like the midi implimentation chart pages shrunk from 19 pages in V1.5 manual to 1 in V2.0, luckly you can still download the full version.

Page 53 of the Cubase MIDI Devices and Features manual might help also

found the answer

did following
Bome's Midi Translator too see the code when i turn Filter cut off
then i figured out
u need too make the Counter hex into 2
soo it counts 00 00 - 07 0F instead of just one HEX 00 -7F
found answer how on cubase.net

now i got realy nice ideas for controller
like with Bome's Midi Translator u can tell a input Program change midi code and then the output will be a Sysex (dont work with turnable items only bottons since bome odnt got the hex count thing) then u can assign a arpeggio step too a toggle able botton on your midi controler now u got a analog step sequencer for beats or other rhymens and the future version of boom will have hex count thing soo u can use your normal midi controllers too control V-Synth
i will let u guys know
if your insteressted

PS. hope u understand my shitty english

Well gonna take a while alot of parameters but i just think i will make all the parameters then release it then u dudes can build own control panel witch is easy just add a fader and then it asks what u want it too control and i allrdy made that.

Just wanted to say that I really appreiciate the work you put into this. I am definitely going to use it when you complete it. If you need beta testing, i'll be happy to do so. Maybe you can sell it to Roland when it is finished :-)
Good luck

Well it wil be awhile before u see any control panel from me
but right now i figured out some amazing things

Picture This That V-Synth actually got it ownz hex string for a hole Arpeggio pattern
means i can use the Midi CC to Sysex too have defferent patterns on it own botton
but it only works for one arp line soo u have too have bottons for each line but trust me this is just perfect for Beats Sequences

Thats all for now

@DJAlexDK
good to see that more people are diving in the sysex scene of the vsynth. I'm 70 percent finished with my own sx3 device map but i'm stuck on the double byte thing. What i do is creating a 16 byte length sysex message. I'm choosing the roland checksum and remove all the values accept value 13. The next step what i do is make value 13 a 14 bit length value, for byte position 0 i choose value 13. For byte position 1 is choose value 12.

in my opinion this should work for double bytes values. however, is still did not succeed in changing double byte valued parameters. (the single byte parameters do all work over here).

this is the last hurdle to finish my midi device map editor for cubase sx3.

sneak preview of this editor (Screenshot) : SX3 Vsynth Editor

Do you have any clues what i'm doing wrong?
