SRX Boards' Rising Prices

Re: SRX Boards' Rising Prices

Always bugs me why the States are soo much cheaper with their gear then other countries. Every time I head over to LA I get shocked by the affordability of Porsches, BMW's, V8 Mustang Convertibles, Apple Computers and Roland gear.

When it comes to 'gear-lust' the US is the place to live. When it comes to lifestyle and peace-of-mind, well, maybe you are better off somewhere else...

Guitar Center

Some people call Guitar Center the evil empire, but I have always been able to get gear for less than the internet. There is a MAP price, which is Minimum Allowed Price, for adverstising. You can get it for less. If you get one of the older reps, or a manager, ask what the best price that they can give you. If they don't budge try another rep later. They have a "hard minimum" which is the lowest price they can give you without manager approval. Sometimes I ask. What is the hard min on the item. I bet you can walk out with $215 or $220. If you get the right guy, they want to keep their numbers high, and will give you a deal. I got Reason for $199 from GC. It was $25o - $299 on ebay or zzounds, or mf, or any other.

Good Luck

I also think there is a trend in the used market toward higher price. There is more Roland instrument on the market using these boards so the demand must be higher.

However you can still find bargain, I bought recently the Platinium board for $160.00us shipping included on Ebay.
