And I speak spanish lika a true puerto rican, and not like these P.R's from over here that can't speak a lick and if they do it's horrible...my parents did me right......
By the way.. congratulations on your first child..I'm 31 and already have 3 boys...

Bassman - I know where you're comming from. The Arnie physique is not exactly suited to riding a bike (except maybe downhill in a straight line). I trained in martial arts for 10 years and my goal was exacly the same - tone not bulk for speed etc. These days i'm afraid the MA training has pretty much knackered my knees and hips so i'm going for a bit of bulk!

Nice talking to you

HiveHead, what MA did you do? After doing Kung Fu (Nei-Kung Chuan) daily for twenty years my knees and hips were like yours. Sometimes I think the Western physique is not really made for MA, so I converted over to Yoga, bike riding and moderate weight training and that seems to help. It keeps me in shape, my knees and hips are good and I feel emtionally, physically and spiritually fit and strong.

I did Tae Kwon Do (not the olympic sport style), which is overseen in the UK by one of the top korean masters (now grand master). His techniques for training were pretty harsh on the body because that was how he was trained (he now can't kick above waist height and wears a back brace at all times). I stopped because and the gradings started to cost ?4-500. When you see a 18ct gold rolex on the grading table in front of the GM when you are being grilled on terminology you start to wonder if you're getting ripped off.......

As for yoga, this is something my wife is doing and that i will definitely consider in order to get back some flexibility!

the reason i feel like its too late for me (at 17) is because some of my favorite artists made some of my favorite music ever when they were 18-21, and i just dont feel like i could ever do something as good as them, especially not within the next couple years.

As long as you continue to think and believe that it is 'too late' and you won't 'make it big'. . . . . .

You won't.

Just do what you do and let things happen when they do.

well, i was referring mainly to Doseone and Jel of Themselves (Anticon)...they made their first album "Them" when Jel was 18-20 and Dose was 19-21....and it blows me away.

i dont necessarliy "think and believe" that its too late, i just have it in the back of my mind. i still do what i do and will continue to do so no matter what age i am, i just wish i could make it big right now! haha....that sounds stupid and selfish, but you know what i mean...

Loop :

The first and only reason to play music should be to please you and have fun, not to be popular and big.
If you obtain sucess than it's a bonus, but it should not be the goal.

of course Steph3dfx! i never said i make music to obtain success. i love making music, all aspects of it....i'd just like to be able to do it as a living....nah'm sayin?

well, i think if you have the goal of hitting big-time, you'll have more perseverence to get there. if you're just playing for live, you wont have any ambition. everything will depend on luck and oppurtunity.
