Calling all people who can help me buy tea from around the w

Hello all!

Yesterday an interesting idea came to my mind. For my wife's birthday (in May), I'd like to give her a sort of a small (or big) tea collection gathered from around the world.

So, I am asking all those on all islands and continents who have a couple of hours of free time and can buy and mail me a pack or two of their aboriginal tea (e.g., preferrably grown in your country: clean, herbal, mixed - doesn't matter). Depending on the price, I will mail a CCD2/3 or a T-shirt in exchange, and/or mail you some sounds commercially available from A-Labs.

Thanks a lot!

'Aboriginal tea'? forgive my ignorance, australian bush tea, am I missing something, what excatly is 'Aboriginal tea' I would like to know, if 'Aborginal tea' is to be taken as a literal meaning theres plenty here in the land of OZ, if tis not, we have other varietys of tea, hebal teas for all occasions, extra special herbal teas for extra special occasions, and then theres plain old bush tea. what is 'Aboriginal tea'? please tell me. and I'll send some 'Aboriginal tea'.

"Aboriginal" does not mean Australian. It means "of that region" as far as I know. So by writing "aboriginal tea" I meant tea that is grown in your country. If your country is India, your aboriginal tea is Indian tea.

"Exclusive" in my message stands for special tea, not the tea that is being exported and is available in our local supermarkets. It doesn't matter if it's some special sort of tea, fruit tea, herbal tea, etc. - it should not be plain black or green that you can buy anywhere.

Okay... so what about some killer Australian tea for a CCD or sounds or a T-shirt? ;-)))

What a nice idea :-) I Just had a look at the tea in our cupboard and they all seem to be sourced from overseas. I could sure send you a packet of what is availiblle in the stores over here in the USA, but I don't think they meet your requirment of being Aboriginal?

Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Sri lanka, China & India are tea producers for sure.

Of course you can't beat a nice cup of tea.

My local coffeeshop *) serves a great cup of tea that will bring out the Aboriginal in anyone who drinks it. I'm not sure though wether it's legal to ship this unique Dutch blend of Ceylonese and Jamaican leaves to the Ukraine...

XXX, Don Philippo

*) Yes, that's right, I live in the Netherlands. If you want to enjoy a decent cup of coffee in a Dutch coffeeshop. bring your own.

Hey A-Man

Tea is obviously not grown in the UK even though we drink bucketloads of the stuff. Most of our tea comes from India & Sri Lanka - still want me to send you some?

DonPhilippo - your tea sounds very ineresting. Do you take sugar & milk with it or just bags of chocolate, cookies & other snacks?

haha, same here. I'm from the Netherlands as well. I can send you some tea made in Holland but for some reason I dont think your wife will apreciate it lol :-)

But it sounds like a great idea! Hope there are some people on this board who can supply some "local" tea.
Come on people send the A-Man some tea!

Thanks for your replies, guys!

Well, in general, I think any tea will do. If you can find some really special tea around - not plain black or green from India, China or Sri Lanka that we can get here, but some distinct fruit/herbal mix - this would be great!

If you do not have any native tea, a mix of eastern tea with your local herbs and/or berries (etc.) would be nice.

Thanks!
