Sometimes...

Sometimes...

...you just forget how much joy comes from your old music synth's that have been sitting around unused for over 10 years. I'm still working at 69 years old, but I think I may have found my retirement hobby!

It's been forever and a day since I've been on the Forum, but I recently had to relocate the Soundworld into a different room in my house. After getting everything hooked back up, I had so much fun playing around with my older Roland synths. In particular, the trusty old JD-990's. Over the years, I managed to acquire 4 of them which is nice given the lack of polyphony. At first, I only hooked up two of them, but had so much fun playing, hooked up the third one and then the fourth! Unfortunately, the batteries in the sound cards had long since expired, but I was happy to note that all the Internal patches are still there. I had fun creating an ambient tune over the holidays using 3 of the JD990's, a JV-1080, JV-2080, an XV-5080, and two V-Synth GT's.

Happy New Year to all. Back to manually cataloguing the 400+ patches on my V-Synth GT's since I don't have time to figure out how to use the librarian!

Absolutely!

I still have my G-70 that I bought 15 years ago, and it is still going strong. Also bought later XV-5050.
Now I am editing MIDI files that I created long time ago when I had G-800 and then G-1000 for the sounds of G-70 and XV-5050.

It is definitely a joy.
