Installing an old backup on a new device

Hey, does anyone know if it´s possible to install a backup from a different Roland Fantom (EX)? To be more specific: I sold my Fantom, but made a backup. Now I´d like to buy a new Fantom and install the backup. Does it work despite different serial numbers? Or is it bound to the device? Thanks!

It is usually possible to load a backup on a different device. The model expansions are not part of the backup. They need to be installed separately. I am not sure if there are any cases where loading might not work. IIRC, at one point I even loaded a backup from a Fantom-0 onto my big Fantom.
