FA-06 problem

FA-06 problem

25 Feb 2025, 17:36
I have searched YouTube and other forums.
Ed Diaz is my favorite but he doesn’t address my problem either.

What I have is I use my FA as a controller also.
It is flawless running my Arturia plugins.

The problem is that if I want to just use the FA “as” the FA it doesn’t happen.

So I don’t get to use any of the FAs great features.
I’d love to assign drums to all the 16 pads.

But, while I’m using the FA as the controller, I can’t.
I have no idea on how to go from controller mode to standard FA mode.

Please advise me as I’m exhausted.

Thanks

Frank

As far as I know the DAW button does this switch between controller and local, isn´t ?

Hi again Frank,
Sorry to hear you are still having issues with this. I did offer to try to help in O October and asked for details of hardware and how they are all linked before i could help. Offer still stands but without details of your whole set up I cant help. Wish you well and understand your frustration.

Frank, Just considering your DAW issue alone: If you set the FA DAW control to ON and select the Ableton option, this automatically selects various parameters on the FA to control various parameters in Ableton. This specifically turns OFF the Local Switch. The local switch is sending keystrokes etc. to the FA's own internal sound engine. So setting DAW Control to On and selecting Ableton will always stop sound from the FA.

You can select DAW control ON and make your own USER settings. You can leave DAW control OFF and still get some basic operation of the DAW such as start, stop and sync. And this then allows you to select which of the 16 individual tracks in the FA are to play on the FA or send out to pay other synths or a Track in the DAW- by using the Local Switch on each individual track.

Have you used the FA with your DAW/Ableton with DAW Control off? Specifically which FA controls are you relying on do specific actions in the DAW? Are you sending midi or audio from the FA to the DAW?

In respect of your other comments/questions on running 16 tracks of drums. I can not comment as I don't understand what you are trying to do or why?

I am not now a regular visitor to this forum as my DAW is now my Master and it mostly sends commands/midi to the FA (and other kit): the opposite way round.
