Pad Assignment

Pad Assignment

Hi folks,

Juno-DS61 newbie here. The pads play drums sounds out of the box. I would like to reassign the pads to play other onboard drum sounds, e.g., cowbell, claves, hand claps, etc. I cannot find a straightforward tutorial on this. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Each one of those sounds in a drum kit are associated to a specific note. At the same time, pads are preconfigured to play specific notes. This association can be modified in the System menu (Menu->System), Pad Note section, so you can assign the note belonging to the drum sound you want, velocity and the channel (10 is the default, and that's why part 10 in performances are normally reserved for drum kit).

That said, I just realized that pads only works with drums when you are in path mode (when you are in performance mode, they only work to change the current part inside the performance), so I don't have a clue on how to choose the drum kit to be used when playing drums with the pads!!
