Zenology Pro: Import Wav Samples to Drumkits

Zenology Pro: Import Wav Samples to Drumkits

Hi!

Is it possible to import wav samples into Drumkits in anyway? Or are you stuck with Rolands own samples at this time?

Can you export Drumkit with custom samples created on a Fantom (imported wav samples) through .svz to use in Zenology?

I really want to map wav drum samples to keys in Zenology Pro.

BR
Daniel

I tried to create a sample based drum kit in Fantom and then export it and the program loads in Zenology but not the samples.

Hey, friends. Brian from Roland Cloud here. At this time Roland Cloud is unable to import audio. This may be a possibility in the future, but not at this time. I'll add this to our weekly feature request report for you. Thanks! :)

in Zenology there is already an indication of the User Samples: if there is such an indication it is because this possibility will certainly be implemented. We hope the multisamples will also be implemented as was done in Fantom. In such a case Zenology would become enormously more complete.

From a strictly "commercial" point of view, the possibility of providing multisamples in rolandcloud subscriptions could be added, which would make the subscription even more attractive.

Zenology Pro does sound fantastic, a really good soft synth. I still prefer the MC707 hardware for making new patches, over a couple of years I've got pretty good it. If Brian from Roland Cloud reads this, can the standalone version of Zenology Pro be updated to be able to transfer a tone to an MC707 clip via USB? And vice versa! That would be brilliant as I could transfer the MC707 patches I make to be used in Ableton and Zenology, and know they'll sound the same.

Hey, GMayle! Brian from Roland Cloud here. We definitely have more connectivity with hardware on our roadmap. I'll add it to the request list and keep you posted. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Thank you Brian. Been very, very impressed with the MC707, which I've had nearly 2 years. It's one of the best budget units Roland have ever made, and it's still got its best days to come, in my view. To me, the MC707 is already classic Roland hardware. Zenology Pro sounds identical, and has thousands more sounds that won't load on the MC707. With the combination of the 2 you have a mammoth library of sounds and synth options. If you spend a little time on them both, they really come up with some great sounds!

some good news about own sample import in zenology pro?

With the last update off Zenbeats it comes the ZR1 but I miss again that feature for the zenology pro to build custom drum kits with own samples to export that in a hardware for live performance !!!

Hi, Phex. Brian from Roland Cloud / Zenbeats here. Yes! The ZR1 instrument features a sample import feature per pad for your custom kit building needs. I've been busy testing this lately with my favorite drum packs. This was a big request from our community that we were happy to fill. Thanks! 😊

Hi Brian. Thanks for your answer! But I’d like to transfer that “software” Drum Kit later to a hardware for live performance. The only way I can use ZR1 custom drum kit is to export the samples, not the settings. I would prefer the export as an ZVS file from the ZR1, so I can use it than in a hardware with all the settings like compressor/multi fx / EQs, if you understand?! That would be more comfortable if I can build customized drum kits with sample import in the zenology pro synth and work in a DAW with that VST Plugin and later I transfer it perfectly in a hardware like mc101/707 for performing.

Hi, estramonio. That's a great question. Here's a fun video from our friend Bo at Bo Beats on how to build your own kits and edit your samples with the MC-707. Thanks!
