MC707 / MC101

Mute main output usb audio?

I've got 8 audio tracks in ableton and 8 midi tracks and I wanted to connect them both so what's on one is on the other but i can't listen to just the output from ableton as I can't monitor the mains while their muted.
How can I do this? Might not have explained it well.. Sorry for that.

I should add I have usb connected and then I have main output into the speakers, I've chosen mix for input and output

I think, what I want to say is, is there a way to mute the output on the audio interface and monitor it on the USB output

Eventually I got there..
But theres something I still find tricky.. Which inputs and outputs correspond to what? For example.. I know track 1 to 8 is output 1/2 to 15/16 so what's the 17/18 19/20?
And the 1/2 3/4 5/6 in which one is ext in return and pc?
