Creating a slide with the mc 909

Creating a slide with the mc 909

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to create a single slide from one note to another, without having to apply the slide to the entire sequence of notes. I used to own a mc303 and they made it very simple, but I can't figure it out on the 909. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Easy.
Assuming by slide you mean portamento, just record your melody with Rec Mode set to MIX and when it loops back around punch in the legato with the Legato button. Depending on the patch, you may want to also set it to Solo, and further edit the pitch bend in the Patch Edit TMT parameter menu. I'm sure you can use the sequence editor to enter MIDI CC#68 for legato, but I didn't try it. Also, if you are using an external MIDI controller, use the pitch bend wheel or joystick if it has one to play legato.
