Sequencer in loop mode

Sequencer in loop mode

26 Jan 2015, 05:22
If the sequencer of my Fantom-X6 is running in loop mode, it sends a MIDI stop and a MIDI continue event after each cycle. This causes audible hiccups with other devices I sync from the Fantom. Does the FA-06 have the same behaviour?

Another question: After exporting sequencer tracks as audio files, can I import the same files into the FA sampler w/o using an computer? With other words: Does the sampler has access to the folder for audio export?

Thanks in advance ...

Yes it has, once they are created on the SD card (which will be done automatically while exporting)
In the SAMPLE IMPORT menue there are four choices to select from:

/IMPORT
/EXPORT TRACK
/EXPORT STEREO MIX
/EXPORT SAMPLE

These folders are fixed, and the only reachables.

Great :-) Thank you so much for answering.

Now I hope to get also my first question answered because a smoother synchronization of other gear would one of my reasons to change from Fantom X to FA. Is it easily to test:

- Load any song into the FA
- Go into the sequencer, enable loop
- Connect any external (MIDI clock synchronizable) device (FA should be the Master)
- Do you hear a short hiccup/gap from the external gear everytime a cycle is completed?

I sync my FA-08 to the RC 505 looper via midi all day.. works great.. no issues whatsoever.

Is your FA the slave or the master? I need to use the FA as sync master because the device I want to sync has not MIDI out. Beside this, sync is generally no problem if the Fantom's sequencer is NOT in loop mode.

I have used the FA-06 in loop mode as master and I recall no glitching.

The RC-505 is one of the very few audio loopers that can follow midi sync well.. however (maybe due to the amount of midi the FA-08 sends out (note bug in turning midi out off for channels)).. it does warble a bit. (Speed up and slow down to counter midi drift).

I set the FA-08 to follow the RC-505 and it works perfectly.
