Can you program user arp patterns/step sequence?

Can you program user arp patterns/step sequence?

Like in an old school synth, can you create your own arpeggiator patterns, like a repeating pattern of your choice for the current patch or a patch inside whatever they are calling their multitimbral sounds these days? Sorry, I don't own one yet but I need to know before I drop any coin on one. Thanks!

Yes you can use your own arp creations - but you can't create them on-board the FA.

You can create the pattern in a DAW then export it as an SMF. This can then be imported to the FA for use on any of the 2,000 plus on-board sounds.

Ok, well that's pretty straight forward. Man, I really think it's a bummer to not be able to just do that onboard. The Gaia is the same way. I just love keeping it all in the synth. Not a deal breaker though. Thanks :)

I think the last Roland model to create user arps on board was the V-Synth GT. Very good it is too.

Like you, I like things to be on-board as much as possible - I don't use DAWs, so it's not ideal (for me) that I have to fire up the PC to use the user arp capability.

That's not true. You CAN create new arp patterns completely on-board. See the manual, page 34, second column ("Creating an arpeggio style from a song").
