arpeggiator not working when playing over midi

Hi.
I am playing the JP80 from a midi track in Pro Tools, but the arpeggiator isn't working.
I have set the clock to MIDI, the Sync to MIDI & it locks & works fine when Pro Tools is running & I play the keyboard, but not when I try to fire from the MIDI track ?

Any idea's ?

If you want both using the arpeggiator on a midi track and syncronizing the sequencer with the arpeggiator, the arp will only work while the sequencer is playing or recording midi data, because it "waits" for tempo informations. If you want to use the arp, when the sequencer ist stopped, you mustn't syncronize the two.

Yes,

1- is PRO Tools supplying the MIDI clock?
2- Did you try driving he JP-80 via the MIDI (5 pin DIN) connectors and not via USB? Did it make any difference?
