D-50 Sounds for V-Synth
15 Jul 2013, 21:24I have a VC-1 and I love it, but recently I was contacted by a guy who has a V-Synth and wants to play a couple dozen or so D-50 sounds without having to buy a $350 used VC-1 card. So I thought to myself, it shouldn't be that hard to load a dozen or so WAV files into the V-Synth and build D-50 sounding patches. Meh, I've tried, but it's just not quite there yet. Part of it is that I'm not very experienced with programming a V-Synth, and part of it is the samples sometimes sound kind of wimpy, very quiet and not as loud/full-bodied as regular V-Synth patches. Has anyone tried this before?
Anyway, I've got about 115 or so D-50 samples, however not the 20 that this guy is looking for. Of course, they're classics from the first 2 sets of sounds for the D-50, so they're on the VC-1. But if I have to sample them, this project is going to take a while.
