Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone that has(or still is lucky enough to obtain) the arx-03 brass expansion, has any demos they may want to share...I'm a huge fan of this expansion, and anxious to hear what some other folks are doing making tracks with this fabulous sounding board.

Happy New Year to everyone, hope you all have your musical dreams come true...

My second and third album (not yet released) have used both the Brass and Drums expansions boards.

Here's a link to the second album, you can preview on iTunes.

Ted,

Perhaps it is a problem on my end,but I cannot click a link on any title on the "Awakening" album, but all the links are clickable on the "Plugged" album...Could you check into this?

That's strange.

I can get to preview both albums ok.

Try this link. Should have a preview/play button appear immediately to the left of the song title.

PS. If that doesn't work, I'm happy to send you an MP3 of the one that has the multiple overlays from the Brass ARX board. Sort of a "big band" feel.

Ted...I figured the problem was something with the browser,so I opened with another browser, and voila, there it is...Thanks for all your help, and by the way....

NICE songwriting and groove on your tracks, they sound real nice, heard those horns on a couple, recognized em right away,my personal favs being " Ocean Storms" and especially "Live at Budokan"..that track rocks, you got that rock groove down, and when you bust in the guitar and cut it with that B3 knife ...OOWEE! Great job man...You got some serious writing talent,my friend!

Keep on writing!

Question: Did you do all or most of your production on the G? Soundwise as well?

Hey, Thanks Mike for the comments. Nice to hear.

Yeah, brief summary of technology used:
- Plugged: Just Fantom G and my Strat. No ARX boards.
- Awakening: Fantom G, Brass and Drums ARX boards, Strat/Line 6 amp/effects.
- Chapters (not yet released): As above + Digitech stomp box for Strat (bypassing the Line 6 altogether) + Adobe Audition for Mastering (Just got this 2 weeks ago and 'Im impressed with what it can do).

Hopefully release the new album in a few months.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

Cheers

Mike (and others)

Its also very worthwhile to check out Ed Diaz's youtube video on how to create 3-octave brass sections.

While he shows how to do it in Live mode.... its just as easy in Studio mode... by using 3 tracks in the sequencer, assigning the patches he mentions, and then cloning the phrase you want, amending the notes by the octave up / down (using Transpose)... etc.

Even though I have the ARX brass card - I am also now using those native patches available out of the box, that for additional "full on" and fat brass section sounds.

Well worth trying. Very impressive results.

Cheers
Ted
