Hi there,

thanks again for your super work on the sound banks. Any chances, that rest of the GT banks will be converted for the V-Synth/XT within next time? I am so excited to get them work on my XT. Unfortunately I can't do it by myself because the Librarian Software for the classic V-Synth/XT doesn't work on Mac anymore since OS Lion and above.

Have a good new year!

Not sure that any work was slated for this Stue. Most of the patches as delivered to me from Jim Stout were originally in XT format and then they were easily converted for use on the GT by cello using the "convert load" feature.

For the Soundworld GT set, I took almost all of the one-tone patches and added a second complimentary tone so those are not directly compatible on the XT. If there are some unique tones on the GT that you want on the XT, Paulo had a "reverse convert load" (i.e. GT to XT) way of doing it, but I think he was probably using the librarian.

Best regards,

I found this bit from Paulo on another thread...
I'm using lots of patches from the GT on my XT.
What I did was basically converting them from the GT format to the V-Synth format, using both Librarians and renaming the project folders to match the XT's (original V-Synth) format.

Only the GT patches using both TONES are not possible to convert directly to the V-Synth format, and in that case we need to use a more elaborated approach, but due to the multi-timbral nature of the original V-Synth, that is almost possible.

Only when patches use Vocal or APS it is not possible to replicate them on the original V-Synth.

Exactly right SoundWorld :-)
I took both Librarians to do the conversion.
As I said, it is not possible to exactly mimic the Dual Tone Patches, but there is a workaround that works provided the patches are not using APS or Vocal Designer.
Here's how I do it (an example only):
- Using the GT's Upper Tone on XT's Part 1 (channel1) and GT's Lower Tone on XT's Part 2 (channel 1).
In fact the XT is capable of something that the GT can't match... Multitimbrality, and this enables to "almost" mimic the GT's Dual Tone approach (except when using very different Effects on each Tone).

@Stue007,
If you have any specific GT Patches that you want to convert, let me know...

Cheers
Paulo

And BTW... HAPPY NEW YEAR to you ALL !!!!!!!!!!

Where's the sounds ? can't "hear" anything...lol

Well of course they are "virtual sounds." You have to first load them into the imaginative slots in your brain! ;-)

Well, of course the "virtual" slots in our brains is unlimited, unlike the Integra-7 where only four can be loaded!

Why is that? We don't know but there's no time to worry about it! All of those great SN sounds would be enough by themselves...the SRX (even 4 at a time) additions are just like icing on the cake!

And that is in addition to all of these great XT and GT sounds!

Let's see...6000 + 2000 + 512 + more...

WOW!
