V-synth XT clock source / arpeggio

Hi guys !

I have a small problem here.

Its regarding the clock source of arpeggiated patches.

When I use internal clock source the arpeggio - The patch works just fine, however i do want to use the clock source from my DAW in this case Cubase. (i.e. set the source to midi, which do know how to do)

But when i set the cl-src to external sync - MIDI (not via usb-midi) The arpeggiator stops working.
How to I set this up properly ? Its kinda annoying to set the the project-tempo manually for every patch... and still not 100 % synching.

2. Another probably even easier question, Some patches has some arpeggio-patterns I want to use on other patches How do I do that, I can´t find it in the manual.

I hope you can help me out here :)

do you also need to tell the midi source to send the Start signal ..?

Right it was a setting in Cubase :) What other daws allready has activated , like Live you have to set Cubase as master-sync.

Well still curious about how to choose arpeggiopattern on other patches

Good question regarding moving arp data over to a new patch. I don't how that would be possible short of copying or taking a snapshot of the arp you want to mimic and rebuild in the other patch.

Using The Patch Copy function from the drop down menu.

Actually you can copy all different blocks from one patch to another, in any combination. Very flexible indeed.

You're right Paulo. I discovered this feature about a month ago, actually! Flexible indeed!

Don't know if the OP was able to correct his/her problem, but one thing I find frustrating is the overall lack-of-sync from the DAW (midi sync out) to the V-Synth. I use SONAR and it works flawlessly with my Waldorf Q, as that machine is spot-on the clock. For the V-Synth, however, it's as if the tempos of each patch are always about 10 BPM to slow. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

No you are not doing anything wrong.
Unfortunately the V-Synth only synchronize if you use the MIDI din ports, so you will need a MIDI to USB adapter or a MIDI patcher with USB support.
The V-synth USB port is good for Audio, but not for MIDI if we need the clock to synch

Sorry to resurrect the thread but what if you put the clock source to USB-midi?

Not had any luck with arpeggios over USB with Logic. I'm assuming its user-error, but would appreciate a point in the right direction :)

No it's not user error. MIDI is not well implemented on the V-Synth when using USB.

It's why I just use MIDI IN/OUT connected via a MIDI Patcher/interface. This way, no problems with MIDI clock

It's like Paulo said. Unfortunately they never eliminated the bug in a USB driver update. So I work it around with the classic midi interface, too.

at some point of time i remember it did get it to receive clock via USB then suddenly not anymore , dunno if it was a Logic update or an OSX update , i think it worked on Leopard..

Maybe it did, but still highly unstable

Use Midi in/out and an inexpensive Midi/USB adapter and you will have no problems
