Can you use FG as a contole surface in sonar 8.5?

Hello fellow fantomists,

Just wondering if any of you use the fantom as controle surfaces?
Are all the bottons (play, record, rewind,... )assignable on sonar 8.5 , can I use sliders and knobs to controle volumes and pans in sonar?
If it is possible, How do you do it?

There are limited numbers of things you can do with the FG as a control surface, and the best answer is "dont bother".. no.. really dont bother trying, many have and its quite frustrating.. but easy to get around.

a) If you have an iPad/iphone, get the AC-7 Core app and control Sonar wirelessly
b) If you have an android phone buy TouchDAW and ditto
c) if want a small cheap controller get the Korg nanoKontrol or similar and use ACT

I went option c) and was working in 5 mins, rather than the 10hrs or so of mucking about getting nowhere i had previously done.. I now use the iPad and so the nanoKontrol is in a drawer.. am in the USA if this is of interest to you.
