Problems when saving songs

Problems when saving songs

2 May 2012, 03:51
Hi Folks,

I have 2 problems, when saving songs on my X7.

First, I cannot save the tempo of a song (e.g. 160bpm). I tried at least ten times changing the bpm to 160 (which is also the tempo of the performance I am using for the song) and saving the song. When I load it, it switches to 120 bpm. Tempo Override in System Settings is ON. What am I doing wrong?

Second, the song also does not save the Arpeggio Hold status. This is weird, as it is part of a performance. Everytime I load the song, Arpeggio Hold is OFF although I saved both song and performance with Hold ON. Any ideas on this one?

Cheers from Munich,
Seb

Is this happening on every song you save or just one, Seb? If just one try saving it with a different name. Also, can you micro-edit the SysEx for the arpeggio switch?

Yup, happens with every song - also if I use a different file name. The song itself only contains a pattern that I want use for RPS. It also happens if I create an empty song, change the tempo and save. When loading it goes back to 120bpm.

The SysEx workaround for the arp switch is cool. However, is it normal that a song does not save the arp hold status?

You must have some sequence data on at least one song track in order for the tempo to be retained. Patterns do not retain tempo. You can mute the track but there has to be some data there to retain the tempo.

I would expect the arp status to be saved with the Performance set up, so yes, with the song. I'm not sure what's going on here. If you want me to, I could try a fudge save at home later on & see if mine works.

Guys, thanks for your help. Romey, it works, when there's data in one track. First problem solved. Andy, that would be great if you could check it out on your board. Arp hold status still does not save on my songs...
