Recording witha vst external

I am recording a external vst the Arturia mini moog. Every time I play a rhythm patch on my g7(Pads) it plays the vst. Does not do this when I play anything manually . Please help!!

The rhythm phrases can be directed to the internal sound generator, external, or both... And they are not consistent across the board.
The rhythm pattern phrases you wish to use need to be modified to be internal only..

Thanks found that on page210 in the owners manual. Also had to make sure that in side of pro tools that i had the aux track selected so that i did not trigger synth. Thanks Again
