I really don't know if I should be exited or disappointed about the Jupiter 80. Even to present a video of a new product during the build-up of a trade show is a little bit strange on my opinion.

By the way, now that I know that this is all true - I tend not to visit Musikmesse in FFM and to spend my free time with my family ...

He says in video, expected release will be around august and the cost is 3000 euro, or £2620 GBP or $4,266 USD.

Tbh, if you take all the fancy colours away it would look exactly like a Fantom.

Oh yeah! I like em already. The picture didn't justify how beautiful it is. Now, where is the XR thing they mentioned? J-80 will absolutely coming home to daddy...LOL!

yes, the nords are all red. not my favorite color, but at least not rainbow of colors with all the buttons like some simon-says game. LOL!!

i checked out the vid. it does seem to have the nice rich sounds of the original Jupitor8. :)

not sure why they kept the colors though... it was cool back in the 80's but 2011, should be limited colors more sleek looking, more sliders for live control. should've redone it making it look more like the JD800.

Pretty, I love the backlit pads. Not that I know what they do. The Jupiter-80 certainly proves Japanese fascination with glowing buttons, bless their hearts.

@Kenchan - LOL. You never played with a Fisher Price Xylophone when you were a kid did you? The JD-800? We obviously have different tastes. Do you still have your patent leather jacket with the zippers?

That's the first video so far that actually gave an idea of what it sounds like and it sounds very good to me!
It looks well built. Looking forward to hearing more.
