Supernatural Piano Kit NX Expansion Board

Supernatural Piano Kit NX Expansion Board

Can anyone attest to whether the GX-1 Supernatural Piano Kit (Expansion Board) really adds enough to a standard GX to make you want to run out and pay $299 for it?? Does it majically transform a "GX" to an "NX". Do I sound a little fececious here? Funny I bought a Yamaha S90XS because I got bored with my "GX" and I loved all the other sounds Yamaha had to offer but now I am drawn back to Rolands piano sounds ironically after picking it up again. I have to say you hear more of a real acoustic piano sound of striking the keys!

I have posted my impression of the NX on
http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=36320

and I'm still convinced that the K-RD700GX1SuperNATURAL Piano Kit expansion board pushes the RD-700GX into the league of the top stage pianos just like Yamaha's CP-5 etc. which is definitely above the S90XS.

I would even think an upgraded GX is better than a NX.

So the merely $299.- give you an absolutely up-to-date instrument even though the GX has been on the marketplace for already three years now.

I like the fact that you still have one slot left for SRX card! NX is not expandable. :(

this is slightly offtopic but I am thinking/wishing/hoping I could get the Supernatural Piano kit for my GX but I know I already have both slots filled with the SRX11 and SRX12. Is there any way to get some sort of expansion kit to add more slots? Or how hard is it to remove one and replace it with it another? I'm assuming it's not something you'd consider plug n' play. I love the expansion sounds I have but damn I'd love to add the new one or more if I could somehow. Thanks for the help :)

i would get rid of the SRX11 and just pop it in there.

why do you need so many 88 key sampled pianos? :D the GX-F expansion is far superior.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about.
Since I had the SRX-10 (Big Brass Ensemble) and the SRX-12 (Classic EPs) before I purchased the
K-RD700GX1 SuperNatural Piano expansion board I certainly had to choose which one to remove.
Basically it's easy to change the boards, but impracticable on stage.
It would be simple to construct an external box for several expansion boards you could choose from by a manual switch.
The only thing is where to get the sockets and plugs that fit into the original Roland gear.
Do you think they would be available as spare parts directly from Roland ?
