Hello all,

When i talk to roland ,I'm the only one with this problem ???
After installing the new sonar X-1 64 bits my editor software isn't working properly to communicate with my Fantom G
When i hit "sync" my whole program frrezes and the only sollution is to restart my whole computer
I have errore like "teleporter not working" and fault in "sonarPDR.EXE"

When is roland and sonar gonna do sommething about this ?
For a good workstation and a friendly X-1 is this = 0.000

I have repoted this to Roland Belgium and it is send via roland Belgium to sonar and Roland Japan ,but after two months I haven't got a good sollution ,
The only sollution was ...work in 32 bits and all the problem will be solft ,is this a sollution

Or im I the only one with this .....problem ??
If it stay's I gonna resell my fantom to Roland and ask a total repay for it
Becourse I'm getting crazy over here....................
So if you feel the same ...report it please to Rland becourse now I'm the only one here

I debated on whether to upgrade to Sonar X1 but after reading some of the Sonar user forum posts I decided against it. I currently have Sonar Producer 8.5 by the way. People on the Sonar forum were complaining that after upgrading to X1 they lost functionality with some of the features that were working fine under Sonar 8/8.5. In my opinion, until Roland (who bought out Twelve Tone Systems) gets their act together to deal with these anomalies in X1 more and more people will probably continue to deride them for making a product that is worse than the one it replaced i.e. Sonar 8/8.5. After obtaining Twelve Tone Systems isn't it rather ironic that now Sonar is suddenly "going downhill" under its new owner i.e. Roland and company? Just a thought.

Maybe they laid off all the competent employees to try and scale back and save money. Penny wise = Pound foolish, needless to say. ;) If indeed that is the real reason Sonar is coming apart at the seams under Roland's leadership and direction that is. It doesn't look good though if you ask me. Until they eliminate the "bugs" from X1 my advice would be to stick with Sonar 8/8.5 instead of forking over big bucks for the currently crippled X1. That's just my opinion of course. I think they guarantee the product for at least 90 days. Maybe you can request a refund and then repurchase it again once they eliminate the bugs?

I am with you there... I have 8.5 producer and it is more than comprehensive enough for my perceived needs... that docking/viewing thing would be handy but i get around this with two displays.. btw, for the life of me i cant figure how folks can work with just a laptop display!..

Yes Mistik i already instald the 64 bit
The fantom G editor only works fully in 32 bits (cfr Roland and Sonar)
In 64 the teleport is failing
So I'm hoping on a update of the Fantom editor here or a change in Sonar X-1
I have paid a lot of money for a synth who isn't working in my new (updatted) daw X-1

Isn't the fantom the flagship for the moment or is there comming a new synth from roland and are we staying out in the cold ?????
Like always ;-)

I am using Sonar X1 PE (upgraded from 8.5 PE) with the Fantom G8 and absolutely loving it!! Sonar X1 gets a 'thumbs up' from me! =)

I use my Fantom Instrument Definition in combination with Sysex data and avoid the editor all-together.

I thought this sounded like a problem with old drivers at first too.

Mpraet, keep in mind, 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems are fundamentally different all the way to the core of every process. e.g. You can't run 32 bit programs on 64 bit machine.

So to be more specific, it looks like Roland hasn't released a 64 bit version of the Editor/Librarian, correct?

Fantom-G and Sonar X1 work fine together as Piaknowguy illustrated.

what my thinkings are ,Sonar and Roland are working together, but it is not possible to let a Roland fantom G work properly like i should, together with the X-1 at 64 bit
I want to work with the editor and not the old fashion way sorry
And i don't think sonar nor roland is gonna do sommething about this point here ,becourse I was the only one who made a complaned about this issieu.
I work also with the origin arturia and when i mail them to do sommmething ,I get a responds and after a few weeks there is a sollution .
THis is going on now sinds december 2010 ,and ....NO RESPONDS from sonar ,i have also mentioned a earlyer bug in the editor in sonar 8.5.2 in mars 2010 and ....yes again no respond from Roland ,at first you receive a mail and after that .....yes nothing and lots of silence ............
I have buyd a n instrument for a lots of €€€€€€ and the only thing I want is that it works like it should and not via via via

This has to lie in Cakewalks court surely. Sonar 8 works in 64 bit along with the editor so 64 bit X-1 has to be to blame. For once I am on Rolands side ;)
Whine whine everywhere and not a drop to drink ;)
