good master comp. settings but ..

hi,

I use G with Beyerdinamic DTX 700 and found best master compressor settins yet. but the problem is when I apply these settings to songs using MFX track MFX (while used) makes other tracks to sound more quiet and vice versa. this makes song sound once louder once quieter what is undesirable. is there some solution to this issue ?
(don´t want to switch master comp. off :) )

my settings

split low 200Hz
split hi 2000Hz
lo level 6
mid level 7
hi level 12

lo attack 4 mid attack 4 hi attack 4
lo release 50 mid release 50 hi release 50
lo tresh -16 mid tresh -32 hi tresh -32
lo ratio 8.00:1 mid ratio 8.00:1 hi ratio 8.00:1

if you can share some master settigs it´s welcomed.

thanks

Sorry to say, there is no magic compressor settings. If you like, use the presets (Hard/Soft Comp, etc), but it's really all relative to what the song might need.

IMO, throw the master compressor out the window since it only make things worse. :)

You'd be better off learning how to use a single channel compressor first.

If you are just using the Master Compressor to compensate for the heavy bass in your cans, just use the 3 band EQ and leave the compressors alone.

cans ? don´t you think my headphones ? :)
well I´m not familiar with this issue so I look for some understanding and explanation or so.
using 3 band EQ ? did you mean mfx with equalizer effect ?
switching compressor off makes overall output weak. of course I can add more master volume.

Cans, heaphones. I think I mistook your DTX 700's for DT 770's which are closed back.

Sorry about the confusion, but I'd still recommend dropping the master compressor until you know exactly what the settings mean and do to your sounds. In fact, turning up the volume is a great idea! Compressors don't automatically make your beats phat or punch any harder, quite the opposite really.

As for the EQ, I noticed in your master settings you were pushing the highs up. That's the only thing you should keep if you insist on using the master FX, although I'm not sure if you were doing that just for the headphones now.
