you were probably thinking of a quality synth and not some gimmicks.

I heard roland is actually comming out with something quite revolutionary, its the Q-beam...its an almost useless modulation device that works on burning money. You light a bill on fire and the larger the bill the more modulation you get on your sound!!! Of coarse you could just use the mod lever but burning money is really visual and it makes the crowd go wild when you play live.
CANT WAIT TILL NAMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it would be amazing to controll a synth with the I-phone!!!!
just plug it in and use it for modulation!!!

one hand would have to hold the fone...and the other would be used to touch the screen ...so you wouldnt actually be pressing the keys...BUT THE CROWD WOULD GO ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!!!!!!!

As always I'd like to see something in a rack version. The last pro Roland workstation to be racked was believe it or not the Fantom-XR (which I own). I'd like to see a Fantom-G refresh w/ newer, more and better orchestral samples, Flash memory (like the Motif XF), and at least 8 multitimbral VA voices (at least 4 parts). Provide this in 88, 76 (w/ "C" as bottom note), and 61 keyboard versions and a rack version. Kill the huge display which sticks out like a sore thumb. Mount it flush and make it touchscreen. Of course full computer integration. Cut the weight down too, as well as the price. Well, we can dream, huh?

what if roland came t namm and said...we have nothing new.... we are just going to rerelease the juno 60 and 106 and the jupiter 8? no jokes no gimmicks...we dont mean vst versions. We will actually re-release these synths.
thats a good dream too.
what ever it is they release you can be sure its comming with a usb chord that you will need to exploit the full functionality of it.

One thing for sure, they will have plenty which they define as "new". Whether we the users or the press agree is another story. I will be disappointed to see them still hawking the Fantom-G. It's had its time. It's time to move on. Over the last decade Roland has fallen farther behind in being cutting edge. I hope they will address this at NAMM. Musicians are not stupid. They want high-tech. Big kludgy workstations with limited computer communication are just not going to be a big hit in the age of the tablet computer and computing in the clouds.

for me its not so much about high tech...i just dont want anymore "work arounds"!

Oh yes. Musicians are not stupid. They bought the FG, saw a lot of flaws in that system, almost a complete absence from Roland to take care about the product and they can't wait to spend more money on a new successor from Roland, as nothing happened, just because they believe that this time Roland will do it right.
That's certainly not my definition about being not stupid. Quite the contrary!

Haha its awsome that when Roland products are googled one of the top searches is this sight...and low and behold consumers learn the truth before they buy.

I think its awsome how a roland "love" forum over the years turned into a roland "WTF" forum...

Look at the past Namm rumor threads and watch them go from wow roland is gonna do great things to yeah whatever at least the prices of last years stuf is going down.

Just the word ROMPLER....sounds like an infants toy...doesnt it?
Cant wait for the next rompler at NAMM!!!
And some juice and cookies.

haha! Juice and cookies is the only thing you might get! ;-) But only if you go to the rompler room!
