Fantom X6/7/8 - 512MB or 1GB ...definitive answer?

Fantom X6/7/8 - 512MB or 1GB ...definitive answer?

I've read a bunch of posts on here about upgrading to 1GB of RAM on a Fantom X6/7/8, but nothing definitive.

From what I've read, it IS possible for the Fantom X6/7/8 to address 1GB of RAM, but there MAY be some problems DISPLAYING the amount of RAM used and/or available RAM. Is this correct or will 1GB actually work okay and without any "available RAM" weirdness?

I know that it will take a VERY long time to load 1GB of samples/tracks into a Fantom X6/7/8, but I figure I might as well go with the 1GB upgrade while I can still find 1GB modules (I'm considering having the Fantom on a UPS, in case of power outage).

If anyone has any information on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks much! :-)

Upgraded mine, 1G, so far so good ...But it does take forever to load vocal samples though, at least 5 minutes for barely 512 of data

Caught me off guard yesterday when I thought I was finished playing for a while and decided to do a reboot but was asked to play again right away before the reboot finished...ARGH!

Like sitting at the wheel of a Ferrari with no key and the passengers waiting for you to start the engine...not good

I'll never do that again
But as to your Q

Get 1G, if not you'll probably wish you had

Thanks for the answer. :-)

1GB is running around $80US, right now, so I'll have to ponder whether to wait for the price to drop or to buy it now, before it's too late...lol
