Hit the SYSTEM button, and the press F5 (System Info), from there you press initialize. This should clear any settings you have on the MV8000...

Be Careful....If you have samples loaded on the MV, it will delete those also....You might wanna back up all of your samples before doing this

Yes i just replied to your post.
As far as the hard drive....You should be able to press DISC/USB Button on the far right of the MV....Then press either File utility or USB.

Disc Utility: will let you see everything on your Hard Drive

USB: Will connect your MV to your CPU, and the you can see everything on your MV hard drive on your CPU

Yes..Initializing will bring the MV back to Factory Settings, including Clearing out the Wave memory and the sequence memory as well...

The patches on your Hard drive should not have been affected tho..
as you have to do another step to clear your Hard Drive.

After you import those patches...Be sure to SAVE the PROJECT B4 you turn The MV off....They should be locked in...so the next time u turn it on...they will be there.

well thats another thing when i go to turn the machine off and it says do u want 2 save the current project and i say yes it says operation failed and it wont allow me to switch off i have to say no to the saving for it to shut down....

Its very possible that the MV is looking for old patches and samples you had on there before. Its trying to save all your work on that project. so if you cleared everything to factory settings it probably is looking for samples and patches that are not there, causing it to say OPERATION FAILED....

I suggest you try to import patches on a brand new project, and then try to save it...it should work...

Do you think its possible for you to email me those original patches, that are on that disc of urs???

Re: factory settings!!! help needed.....

yeah but u will have to do a step by step operation list for me to follow! like how to get them off the disc and so on

1. Insert Cd-rom
2. Locate disc on your CPU
3. Open the disc (so you could see the contents)
4. Copy&paste or drag&drop the patches to your desktop or other folder of your choice.
5. Email the patches by attactching the files to your email..

P.S You might wanna see how big all the patches are (Mac Apple+I - PC properties)

If they are too big...then you can compress them as a zip file and then send them.

Thank you.
