Roland introduces V-Piano

Roland introduces V-Piano

Roland announced the new member in the "V" family of products, the V-Piano. It seems to be a hybrid sampling/modeling piano, possibly based on the development of the SuperNatural technology already used for EPs and drums on the RD-700GX and ARX boards.

Looks nice, but such a top product should have been marketed first with sounds instead of images. I hope they will release audio demos ASAP.

such a shame that they stopped manufaturing the expansion cards, now they could release a V-Piano for the V-Synth

but it seems the original V-Synth is completely forgoten and abandoned by Roland
not very fair with those who were the first to embrace the Vs

Cromio, you must be kidding! The original V-Synth with OS 2.0 is the most perfect Roland synth in this decade. No issues, all vital functions present and then some, superb workflow, great ergonomics, revolutionary sound. What more can you wish?

I wish the PC Card extentions weren't discontinued

I wish I could still find the Vocal design card

I wish it could be a machine with expandable possibilities (wich it is)

I wish for an Acoustic Piano PC Card

I wish Roland would have kept it in www.v-synth.com (it's gone! it's like a ghost; the phantom of future past)

I wish I had more time to play with it

:/

For me, the V-Piano is probably the most interesting "new" NAMM product this year. I'm looking forward to take my hands on it. Unfortunately the information I have says the price will be something like the double of a G8 or higher wich takes it really away of my reach.

I really like the way in which it appears you could make it sound like any (?) piano. I have played many European upright acoustic pianos (mostly lower end and not very well) but they all had distinct personalities and actions. It would be really great if this could be tweaked to match their behavior. (Would be even funnier if after playing a while it would work its way out of tune)

I had another Yamaha piano of similar weight it was a pain to move around.

I wonder what its life expectancy is before it is replaced?

I also wonder if the tweaking of setting is also graphically displayed if connected to a computer which is implied from the brochure?

Anybody have an idea to its cost my guess would be $3500??

I hope this finds you all well and reccession proof :-)

They say it contains 4 processors -compared to only 1 of the Fantom-G. I highly doubt it will be "only" 3500 bucks. I think 3500 pounds will be more accurate although I fear it might be even more expensive than that... :)

Guys and gals, what about a V-Piano forum? Do you think it's needed?

Re: Roland introduces V-Piano

A dedicated V-Piano forum? No. A forum for stage pianos? Definitely. I already thought that the RD series deserved their own. So a RD/V-Piano forum would be great.

Art, I agree with V-CeeOh. I sure think that there should be a dedicated "RD-series/V-Piano" Forum into "Dedicated Roland gear forums".
