I recently bought a roland mv 8800 and was looking for more sound's, Ive seen the roland sonic cell and was wonderig has anyone used this with the mv8800 do they work well together and is it easy to set up with the mv .
Is the sonic cell worth investing in?
I also have a copy of cubase 4 and want to know how to get them working together side by side..

All depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. If you are looking to get the Fantom X sounds (with a nice collection of Fantom-G sounds)- plus the option to add 2 SRX cards- then go for the Sonic Cell. If you can get a deal on a Fantom XR- and don't mind a rackmount device- you can upgrade it with 6 SRX cards plus it does sampling as well. You will get more sounds- but it will cost you.

I have the SC with 2 SRX cards and like it (gives me all the Roland goodness I need). Plus I got a deal on ebay so with 2 SRX cards- it came in around the price of a Sonic Cell new.

Thanx.
I just purchased one.
Any ideas on setting it up with the mv8800?
I use an akai mpk49 midi controller as my keyboard for the mv..........
