Boss Micro BR recorder & USB Flash drives

Boss Micro BR recorder & USB Flash drives

Wondering if you could find a cable adapter with the small end that goes into the Micro Br USB port, and the other end would plug into a 4 gig USB Flash drive for downloading your MP3/Wave files from the Micro Br straight to the Flash drive? Especiallly being the Flash drives are so cheap now. This would be a lot cheaper than buying the 1 gig SD cards that is suggested by Boss to use. And with a 4 gig flash drive, you're talking a lot of songs and recordings on a very small mini Hard-drive is what I'd call it.
Just wondering if anyone has tried this, I think I will try and if it works, I'll post it.

Sorry, that won't work. Both the Micro BR and the flash drive are USB devices meant to be connected to a USB host. Neither device is capable of being a USB host itself.

What you're proposing would be like trying to connect a USB keyboard directly to a USB printer so you can type directly to the paper like a typewriter. It won't work because both the keyboard and the printer are USB devices meant to be connected to a USB host, such as a computer.

There are some products on the market that have two USB ports, one of which acts as a host, and the other as a device. The device port can be connected to a computer, for example, while the host port can be used to attach a flash drive or other compatible USB device. Unfortunately, the Micro BR isn't such a product. It only has one USB port and it acts as a device only -- not a host.
