Playing live with sequencer, drummer & click track?

Playing live with sequencer, drummer & click track?

7 Jul 2007, 04:55
Hi. Our band is starting to use the sequencer on my Fantom-X7 for live performances. My question is, how do we go about sending just a click track to the drummer to help him keep time with the sequencer? Is there a way to route the click/metronome so it just goes to the headphones or one specific output jack?

Or, if anyone has any better suggestions, I'm open to hearing them.

Thanks, Mark.

Record a click track and send it to Output B. So you will have a single track only for the drummer.

I usually use track 16, I record a bar or two of the click track, copy it to the bars necesary and then rout it to output 4. My drummer has a 4 chanel small console where I send him the click track and the AB output of my keyboard and he mixes it up with his console.

My drummer has a yamaha metronome with midi input and headphone output. Using the Fantom's midi out, we sync the metronome to the sequence. We have the audio set where the click only goes to his monitor mix. It's been working well for us on a regular basis.
