basic stereo output question

basic stereo output question

I've only been sending output from my FA-08 out the L/Mono channel (to a speaker or mixer).
If i buy a 2nd speaker, i can go stereo at home -- and I'm assuming some tones are cooler in stereo.

But if i use the same 2 speakers at a gig, a small one toward me and larger one toward the audience (one out L, one out the R channel),
am I likely to have significantly different sounds going the 2 directions. Or is there a stereo knob to turn down to make sure I"m hearing
the same thing as the audience?

Yes, the FA-08 will sound better at home with stereo speakers. I suggest to try headphones at home.

For gigs, if possible, I would send the same signal to the audience and to the monitor speaker. There are affordable options for splitting an audio signal. For example, by using a DI box, which would be useful anyway.

The difference between left and right channel depends on the tone. For acoustic pianos, the right channel tends to be brighter than the left channel. Many tones have stereo effects. Some tones tune one side flat and the other side sharp. If you are using many factory preset tones, then it can be difficult to predict the effects. It is possible to minimize the negative effects by customizing the tones.

Thanks xp30, exactly the sort of thing I wanted to confirm. I'll think about a better way for gigs.

Basic followon here, i got another of the same speaker, the Eurolive B112, and those can be chained, so now in those awkward gigs where i'm in front of the band (small stage), i can point the 1st speaker forward and the 2nd (chained) speaker back at the rest of the band. If i ever scale up to 2 speakers forward to the audience, i'll just chain them as well. Easiest solution I think.
