3 Apr 2005, 23:30Hey guys,
Long time, no see! How's everyone been?
I need to record some simple boss nova-type percussion loops, but I can't seem to get them right. I'm just trying to make simple stuff -- for example, one that I've been trying to make is just shakers doing a light, relaxed background rhythm (traditional bossa nova). However, whenever I record and quantize them, they ALWAYS turn out sounding the wrong rhythm. How can I get this right?! Does anyone know of any free bossa nova loops?
Also, I've tried step recording, but it seems too limiting or something. All I'm trying to make is a simple, traditional rhythm with the shakers (ch-cha-ch-ch-cha-ch-ch-cha-ch-ch-cha or whatever). In step recording, all it will record is "straight" notes, like 1-2-3-4 or something. Can anyone help out with this?
Thanks,
Henry
