It seems someone is also working on a hardware real-time converter doing just that for the JD-08 (which only has an - incomplete - MIDI CC implementation):

19 Apr 2022, 07:41That post was what convinced me there had to be a simpler way than building hardware. And has gone quiet for a while, so don't know if it got working.
