This is where you can tell Roland what you want from the next MC707 firmware update

it would be helpful if when using scene chaining, the scene changes would trigger control messages, like they
do when you manually hit a scene button..

has this just been forgotten about?

A chord collection/trigger like the one on the new J-6. That is of the utmost importance!

Some more interesting Sequencing options like such as probability and randomness for notes/velocity/length etc.
Useful for people that make ambient, generative music. In general some more sequencing options for both internal and midi outs to control external gear.

For me:

Stream recorder: record to add card whatever audio is playing

Fix bugs: most annoying for me is some of the note mute issues. I remember red means recording covered it way back when and I still run into it.

Pad sensitivity: after wasting days away tweaking, I basically now use fixed pad velocity at 110 and change velocities after the fact.

Good Drum group usb support: often I just use the mc 707 drums for scratch track and then re do the drums in my daw. This is because I can’t track the individual sounds from the group independently

Random clip and/or scene launching and/or generative options, like ableton clip launching.

ability to address the efx i/o as two separate channels and the assignable out as two mono outputs.

VST and/or software plugin UI for PC/macOS!!!

To change midi note numbers of drum track.. then i can sequence the snare of my Behringer RD6!!

Better send/return options. TWO MONO EFX send/return with the ability to insert them anywhere in a synthesizer patch, so you could, for example, insert an analog filter, where the filter and/or efx include and "external" option able to use both efx mono at the same time to different destination/sources. Mod-matrix?

I'd love to see this tone structure brought back:

OR

Allow OSC boost to go up to +36dB from the current +12dB

As a new user, I don't feel the need for more functions or gadgets.
But what I do feel is a need for a user friendly menu system.

* Long lists with parameters is totally unnecessary with this pretty big screen.
* EQs, Compressors, ENVs etc. Make them graphical!
* Redesign menu operation for less scrolling. I know you can do it! Using arrows should be the very last option.
* Shift is used all the time. Is this really necessary?
* Sound browser needs to be more efficient. Look at NKS for example.
* Overall I often find the UX inconsistent. The buttons/menus below the screen, for example, some are connected to the track, others are global.

So for 2.0 I hope for a major revision of the user interface. The MC sounds good, It has so much to offer, but hidden behind an immature UX.
Meteer, thanks for this,
I hope that somebody reads this Giant thread

I would like to see an option to have the 16 steps follow along with the measures, such that if you have more then one bar and when you get past the first 16 steps the 16 steps follow along and light up for the additional steps as they are playing or recording so you can see the steps of each measure as it plays. This could be an option to turn on or off in the settings.

Make the automation on 707/101 sequencer great AGAIN!

The whole concept of having static 4 lines of automation per track is not good.
If I put A decay on step 7 that decay will always sound on step7 => static too static
So here are few additions that would make motion "sing" or bring "LIFE" to static 64 steps

1. There should be option (SHIFT+FILTER/MOD/FX) to increase/decrease all the recorded motion steps (Non destructive). Right now if the Motion is on and I turn knob the next step "OVERWRITES" my last knob position, I'm ok with either non destructive implementation: a) ADD the knob value to recorded motion value b) Multiply the recorded motion value by knob position , Middle position = 1.

2. Ability to turn on/off individual motion lines. use your favorite shortcut > FUN + Turn the Filter/MOD/FX could work.

3. - S&H motion designer should have an option to regenerate after each sequencer run. And for cyclic waves the amplitude could be randomly changed after each run too.
OR The Motion should have it's own clock division x2 /2 x3 /3. The first is easier to implement. The second one with clock on each knob would be STELAR.

Elektron = Golden Standard of Sequencing

Yes many of these suggestions are inspired by Elektron GOLDEN standard sequencer The #3 in my list comes from Squarp Sequencer where I have 2-3 midi tracks running on different speeds sending CCs for OTHER MIDI tracks with notes.
The 707 with 1.8 is very decent machine but the more you go with Mainstream-sequencer-features such as Elektron (also Deluge/Polyend), you'd get more sales. Boy-o-boy people buy 3-5 elektron boxes b/c they are in-love with those.

Randomization:
If Roland reads this thread they clearly see that Mute (chance) on Tone track is mentioned here many times. I also see that any new Roland product slowly adopt chance/randomization to their sequencers. So how many more updates till we get Mute/Chance on Tone Tracks?

I am awaiting delivery of my MC-707, so maybe I've got this wrong. I couldn't find any info on whether this can be done, so I'm assuming it can't...

One thing I'm amazed at is how the MC-707 has so many knobs and yet the bods at Roland never once thought that this would be a good way to edit a tones parameters? It's such an obvious solution. Anyone remember the MC-909? Amazing bit of kit that had only one limitation for me, no loop mode! Linear sequencing but no looping within a pattern.

PLEASE Roland... Add the ability to edit a tone, patch sound, whatever its called, using ALL of the front panel knobs.

I was thinking exactly that. I have just upgraded from the 101 to the 707 and there are a lot of knobs. I was wondering if there could be an edit mode when a load of the controls swap to synth parameter editing. I believe the Fantom uses the pads to switch partials or similar. With some clever colour coding to aid navigation (just the sort of thing Roland are good at) it could work well.
