Love this plug-in. And so far it is not available as a Fantom model.

My question:

Is it possible to, not only play back this plug-in using the Fantom keyboard, but also record and play back
In other words, when you push the Fantom's PLAYBACK button it will send midi notes to the DAW (just as if you were hitting the keys) and the DAW will send back the notes through the Fantom's USB midi and you will hear it out of USB audio.

If you are using this plug-in it would be great to hear from you!

Hi!
Short answer: YES

On Fantom:
1) Select your scene workwarea
2) Select zone to assign to VST plugin (as a sugestion, always leave zone 1 free for vPiano use)
3) by default zone number = Midi channel
4) Setup your zone as External (dont forget: GREEN) and leave it selected
5) MIDI USB should be "VENDOR"
6) Setup AUDIO USB IN enable
7) Select AUDIO USB mode "MiXED" to begin (as you get more experience, you can go to "PARALLEL" )
8) Select AUDIO USB volume (to start) say 75%

On PC

a) Check if Fantom is detected as a MIDI Device
b) Check if Fantom is detected as a Digital Audio Device (as soundcard)
c) Start DAW
d) Assign VST plugin to a MIDI Track
e) Assing MIDI Channel as your choosen zone (item 3)
f) In your DAW configuration (depends on product used) select as Audio Device, Fantom Digital Audio (Channel 1 & 2 for example but as you're using MIXED mode - item 7 you can select any other: 1&2 means Stereo L&R)
g) Play on Fantom: Plugin Audio should comes out from the keyboard.
h) Adjust USB audio level on Fantom

That's all
Cheers

Yep, your excellent and thorough checklist did the trick. Thanks for taking the time!

Was forgetting to set channel 17 in plugin wrapper and also sometimes setting zone indicator light to orange instead of green. Plus a few other things probably. Really just using the DAW as a vehicle for the Roland VST's and would rather record using real transport buttons on the Fantom. Now I can.

For those of you reading, if you have not downloaded and tried some of the fabulous VST plugin's that Roland is offering up for free I highly recommend it.
