New EXZ Multisamples and Tone Expansions
10 Nov 2020, 10:03I have been a subscriber to RolandCloud for several months: I appreciate the presence of the many banks of sounds entered on a weekly basis (SDZ042 is the latest) for Zenology and all compatible Zen-Core synths (I own AX Edge and Fantom).
The thing I can't understand and find absolutely disappointing is no new .EXZ tone expansions and multisamples are made available.
If we exclude the piano of the Jupiter X/xm (EXZ001) and the expansions 2,3 and 4 (drums and an additional piano) there are just the old SRX expansions with typical sounds of 20 years ago (including sampled strings EXZ009 Symphonique Strings at low sample rates that need the exciter to play decently :-( ).
But why isn't Roland marketing new expansions with sampled quality sounds worthy of 2020? Korg with Kronos promotes many new libraries all available to various needs. Doesn't Roland have inside who is able to make new, hi quality Multisamples libraries? If it fails, Roland cannot delegate external software houses? Why doesn't it give its users the ability to create them? (with the logic within Fantom it is impossible to create packages of tones + multisamples to share with 1 single file). I hope as soon as possible Roland will give us some news about it.
Let's not forget that the new EXZ expansions would then become available not only for Zenology (no limit) and Fantom (max 2 GByte), but also with AX Edge, RD-88 and Jupiter X (max 2 free slots)
