Juno DS configuration for live

Juno DS configuration for live

25 Nov 2018, 12:41
Hello! I have a Juno DS88, and I play live with guitar, bass, drums and voice. What are the best settings to optimize the sound in the mixer? How do you set the "output gain" in the sound menu? The default is +3. Do you utilize the master EQ? The defalut is "on", but all the levels are set to 0. I usually struggle to get a good sound. Thanks!!

Hi Aleps. I haven't done anything with EQ yet (been playing live about a year with the DS). Nor did I tweak the output gain, I don't think. I 'gain stage' each performance sound set using my little Yamaha mixer, to bring each performance/song to roughly the same level on the meters (adjusting each performance part's volume as needed). This with the DS volume dial set to about 75%. Would love to hear how others do this...

Hello
I play on the JunoDS88. When using my headphone or my "home-studio" sound configuration, the sound of my keyboard is very clean and nice.
But when I play live using a "HK" sound system (and through a Roland m120 and Mackie 1202 mixers before) the sound of my keyboard is juste awful !
Especially the piano sounds... Metallic sound, "Cling", "Clang", "Ding"... look like more a steel bell than a piano. The other sounds seem better.
My other keybords (Roland D5, Korg 01w/fd) sound nice.
Neither the M120, nor the Mackie do troubles on this sound. I tested them individually and seem to be neutral in this problem.

Is there a problem somewhere ?
Does the HK sound system not works correctly with the juno ?
Di you think a dedicated amp would solve this problem ? If yes, wich one around the 200€ ?

I'm very disappointed with this problem. Need your help please...
Thanks
(and sorry for my bad english...I'm french !)
